The standard of accommodation was exceptional; particularly the attention to detail, with every aspect of our comfort catered to. We stayed for six nights and the bed linen was changed half way through our stay. High quality linen and lovely comfortable bed. Our unit was serviced daily and each day we were so impressed with the cleanliness and ambience on our return; fresh and clean, heating appropriate, lamp on. Milk, juice, water were replenished daily in fridge. Breakfasts were to a very high standard, (multiple choices) and extremely generous servings. We will definitely stay again and will recommend Annie's B and B to family and friends.
Set on 2 acres of lovely gardens, Warkworth Country House features free WiFi and rooms with a patio.

Alan & Linley were delightful hosts. We are vegans & our dietary requirements were taken care of.
It was good to be surrounded by gardens & to wake up to birdsong, something we miss in the city.

We were in Warkworth for "Warkworth Walks" a three day weekend of walking around Warkworth and outer regions. A large Annual event unfortunately it is not advertised to the local businesses and many of the shops were closed. This event has been occuring in November for the last 14years and some of the locals are still unaware of it.

Pleasantly surprised by the number of shops, cafe and restaurants including a countdown nearby. Would definitely visit again rather than passing through. The chocolate brown cafe was amazing for breakfast, brunch or lunch. The Warkworth hotel was nice for a drink or meal and the many other restaurants nearby which was nice. Can easily venture up to Matakana or Omaha by driving in around 10 mins which is handy too. Highly recommended !

Warkworth offers genuine country hospitality, great shopping, art galleries, an historic hotel and numerous cafes, all set in a gentil village situated alongside a winding river, dappled with beautiful green trees.

We had a lovely time as usual.
We had a lovely time as usual. Lovely cafes, shops and scenery.
My smiley face review did not reflect our feelings about the Warkworth Lodge - the staff are lovely and this is the 3rd time we have stayed there.

A perfect place to stay and chill out, away from big city noise. The beautiful, parklike setting of the village beside the river is perfect. Early century buildings and interesting shopping, galleries and cafes combine to present a gentil village atmosphere. Beaches and boating are nearby at Sandspit or try Omaha Beach for a swim. I recommend the coffee and cake at Chocolate Brown.👍
I loved my stay! The cottage is so cute and very cosy. The grounds are beautiful - I walked around in borrowed gumboots and enjoyed all the trees and incredible bird live. The hosts are that perfect balance of super welcoming and helpful (such good people!) but also allowing one to enjoy the property freely and privately. The location is just excellent - actually even better than I thought when I booked it. It's just so handy to everything in the whole Matakana area including Tawharanui.
We had expected a bedroom, but had a full small cottage with living/kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with King size bed. What was amazing is we had our own deck and spectacular garden. We were asked our preference for breakfast and preferred time, and it was delivered to our door.
It is a little outside Warkworth but 20 minutes for a spectacular beach.
Our only regret is we had only booked one night!
It’s so well thought through, everything I could want was there. Much more homely, relaxing and inspirational than a hotel or motel. The heaters were on so it was cosy, watching tv on the couch with a blanket or in a cosy bed with extra treats in the fridge to eat. A wide range of teas and coffees to drink plus a delicious breakfast. Extremely well presented and caring hosts.
Host met us and showed us around. Charming historical cottage. Kitchen generously supplied with teas and coffee, milk and a good selection of breakfast items, plus fruit. Very cosy, heaters/electric blanket/hot water bottles. Lovely rural setting for short walks. Everything we needed and a great location not far from Warkworth. Especially liked the friendly host.
Loved the location of the lodge in Warkworth close to everything. Lovely pool bbq area (bit of a downer that we didnt have a hot day as I was looking forward to a swim in the pool). The staff member that greeted us was wonderful. She had a lovely manner, friendly and explained everything including showing us where all the facilities were.
On the first day we arrived in New Zealand, we stayed in Warkworth for one night. This is well-appointed and great value temporary accommodation, not to mention a fantastic garden dinner. Happily, there is a capsule coffee machine with sucrose, which is a very enjoyable Peter& Annie homemade breakfast
Dinner at Restaurant was very nice. Room cosy, clean, and comfortable. Location perfect for moving on to our next day's activities. Exactly one hour from Te Atatu at 2.30pm in the afternoon on a Wednesday, including a stop off at Pak'n'Save Warkworth before arriving at Bridge House Lodge.
Alan and LInley were excellent hosts- very hospitable and friendly with helpful local knowledge. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. We certainly highly recommend them as hosts and also the nice Thai restaurant in
Warkworth town for a meal,
The breakfast was excellent with many home cooked items. Conversations with the host Alan was a highlight of our trip. The kauri forest and museum just up the road was one of the most impressive kauri reserve areas I have seen in New Zealand
Peter was a phenomenal host and went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. Accommodations were comfortable, well-appointed, and the views were beautiful. The next time we are in New Zealand, we'd love to visit again!
Absolutely everything was perfect. The service was honestly the best we have ever had in New Zealand and the room was very luxurious and comfortable. The food was top notch!
Liked the atmosphere of the hotel, the food was delicious & the quirkiness of our room, which had a slanted roof & leadlight windows. The room was warm when we arrived.
