Parking is perfect. The sat nav brought me directly to the car park, which was perfect. It only costs £5 if staying at The White Hart Inn, for overnight and until 2pm the next day. On checking in, Brian sorted out the parking for me. Breakfast was delicious and good value. It was cooked freshly with table service from Aimee, who was very helpful. The staff, John and Brian were very welcoming and helpful, calling a taxi for me on arrival, so I was on time for an event. The building is an old 16th century Inn, with a newer accommodation block added. It has an extensive bar area, serving food, in quite a maze of a pub. Very close to Exeter Cathedral, just a few minutes walk. The Corn Exchange Theatre is also within walking distance, 5 minutes away. The room was quiet and comfortable.

Set around the Exe River, affluent Exeter has played a part in English history from the Roman era to William the Conqueror to the Spanish Armada. Its most impressive structure is the cathedral, begun in the 11th century and boasting the longest stone roof in England.
The surrounding green is a popular picnic spot, and the half-timbered buildings and red-brick façades of the neighbouring High Street house a host of shops. Even more are in the Princesshay and Guildhall shopping centres.
The Guildhall itself is considered England’s oldest municipal building still in use, while nearby Parliament Street is one of the world’s narrowest streets. The remains of 11th-century St Nicholas Priory are now a museum, and there are more red-stone ruins at hilltop Exeter Castle (or Rougemont Castle), built into the Roman walls.
Exeter Central Station is behind the castle, while St Davids Station is nearer the university. The large student population means that the city has good nightlife, and some bars are located by the Quayside, site of Custom House. The river flows past Topsham and Powderham Castle to enter the sea at Exmouth.
To the east are Exeter Airport and the Westpoint Arena exhibition centre, both easily reached from Booking.com’s hotels with spas, cheap apartments and guest houses with parking.

Exeter is a lovely place , however, if driiving it is a nightmare lots of one way streets nowhere to stop if lost , almost no on street parking (unless a payment machine is there ) this is especially frustrating if visiting the royal hospital as the car park cannot cope , and all the surrounding roads are double yellow lines , many people driving around in circles missing appointments and getting angry.

Exeter quay is vibrant, attractive and a lovely area to visit. We walked along the canal whilst others paddled to a lovely pub called double locks. Lunch was excellent at the pub. Evening at local gin distillery- quayside gins which again was excellent. Only stayed one night but would highly recommend.

First time visiting Exeter. A lovely city.
First time visiting Exeter. A lovely city. Lots of interesting places, especially round the Quay area, and many classy shops and cafes. Its also within easy reach of Topsham, which is very quaint, and had lovely cafes and bars. The Firehouse is an excellent trendy eating place there. We just walked into Exeter, but it has plenty of parking places. We also visited Dawlish, another quaint town, with a great pie shop. Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton are also interesting. Our grandchildren loved the picturesque golf course at Exminster, and nearby Turf pub, which you can drive or cycle to, which is open only during the day, as parking is difficult, but its friendly, and serves good food. The Mill on the Exe is next to the property, and serves good food and has comfortable seating, and friendly staff. Also The Prospect Inn on the Quay has great food, and a buzz about it. There are several real ale places on the Quay in Exeter, and pizza vans nearby.

Exeter is a medieval city with Roman remains, and although bombed during WWII it retains many unusual features. Like all uk provincial cities the economic climate has hit hard, however there is still lots to enjoy. Foodies will love STAGE a new restaurant in Magdalen Rd which is exceptional and I predict it will be incredibly successful. Exeter cathedral is wonderful. There’s also the beautiful river Exe that opens out to the Estuary town of Topsham, well worth a visit, the quay area in Exeter is interesting with many historical features. Exploring the area on foot and enjoying foodie venues off the beaten track is the secret to a fun visit.

I am a bit biased because I grew up in Exeter but I was very pleasantly surprised by the new shopping centre with great restaurants and coffee houses yet preserving the history. There was definitely a buzz about the place.
Great hotel in excellent location for a visit to Exeter University.
Room comfortable with a well stocked hospitality tray, best I've had in ages!
Very quiet hotel, didn't hear a sound from the road which was a bonus.
Really clean room and a very decent shower 🚿 👌.
Restaurant food was excellent, we opted for the carvery.
The breakfast was a buffet and was delicious, I would certainly reccomend this hotel if heading to Exeter or beyond.
Apartment has everything you need for a stay in Exeter. It's was warm, roomy, great balcony with views and right in centre of town. Plenty bars, eateries, take away, convenience stores withing sight of front door. Process of arrival very well explained, easy to understand, with local info, tips aplenty. My stay was a bit rushed so didn't have time to take full advantage of lounging around. Would happily use again.
Clean, modern, excellent staff especial the general manager who was truely exceptional at his task. We enjoyed an 8th floor room with balcony overlooking the cathedral, full length glass doors let in so much light.an unexpected gem ( once you found the hotel as you need to navigate a couple of alley ways from either taxi or bus) So central to the best of Exeter experience
Everything- the staff couldn't be more helpful. Great hotel in a perfect location for Exeter town centre. Lovely clean, spacious rooms with a bath which is a bonus for me. A really nice bar too, great to chill away from the hustle and bustle. We will definitely stay again soon. Thankyou to everyone at the Rougemont.
stayed at this hotel before, location right in center of exeter, staff friendly enough, breakfast was ok but plenty of places near by to have breakfast, will definately book this hotel again, because its in the center of exeter it can be a bit noisy on weekends but apart from that i like this hotel.
I have stayed at this hotel for a number of times and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Exeter! Everything about the hotel is excellent. The ample breakfast that keeps you full all day and the staff that treat you like long lost family! I thoroughly recommend this hotel.
We have stayed at the White Hart many times. It's a good base for taking part in activities at the Cathedral, which was again the purpose of our visit. It's comfortable and it has a car park, a rare bonus in central Exeter. We didn't eat in the hotel on this occasion.
Perfect location from the city centre, had a good flow of people in and out majority of the time so you knew the hotel was popular/liked/well used. Me and partner really impressed with our stay. Would recommend for anyone looking to stay in exeter.
The hotel was a short walk from the Cathedral, the city centre and Exeter Quay. The reception area and bar area were very nice and well appointed. The breakfast was excellent. The restaurant area was good. Our bathroom was quite modern and clean.
we have stayed in this hotel many times and always enjoyed this this beautiful historical hotel.
The location is brilliant a short walk into the town centre and Exeter and train station .
Staff always helpful.
We will be back .
Really enjoyed a very last minute stay at Hotel Du Vin in Exeter. The room was spacious and comfortable, with good quality L'Occitane toileties. The pool was lovely and very warm which was great as it was quite cool outside.
Rooms are of a decent size, clean and as expected. The staff, parking and breakfast were all great. Great location to the city centre, a quick 7 minute drive to a central car park and a nice walk of only 20 minutes.
Very clean and comfortable. Bed was super comfy. Within close walking distance to both Exeter Central Station and St Davids. Also very close to city centre.
Lovely breakfast and would definitely stay again.
close to secure car parking at a reasonable price with hotel deal. Location close to city centre and excellent fir Exeter City FC. Room / bathroom had all you need and comfortable. Excellent breakfast options.
Everything was great, the room, the service and the staff, helpful and pleasant. Ive used this hotel before and i will always use it when I'm in and around Exeter.
